- No, Bruce. It just makes Warp the continuation of a failed MS project!
-
- NT was designed from scratch. The head guy was an outsider, Dave Cutler,
- who had been with DEC for years, and had designed a few operating systems
- in
- his time such as VAX VMS. When MS decided to come up with a real operating
- system, they realized they don't know how to do it right :-) But Gates is
- a wise
- man. He knows his limitations, and of those under him. So, he recruited
- the best
- guy for the job (who wasn't interested at first, but Gates is a convincing
- man they
- say). Now, NT is a reality; if you have the hardware, that is; otherwise,
- it is a slow, unusable OS. With the right hardware, though, there's
- nothing that even comes close. MS has it running on four different
- platforms now. Multiple CPUs are supported as is numerous networking
- protocols, out of the box!
-
- With the Newshell, NT 3.51 looks like Win95! Thank goodness, doesn't act
- like it :-)
